Recently, the State Administration for Market Regulation officially released the new valve industry standard GB/T 12234-2024 "Steel Gate Valves for Petroleum, Petrochemical and Related Industries".
Main changes in the new standard include:
- Raised valve sealing performance requirements
- Added material selection specifications for low-temperature conditions
- Improved valve inspection and testing methods
- Added technical requirements for smart valves
The new standard will be officially implemented from January 1, 2025. Valve manufacturers need to adjust production processes and quality control systems accordingly.
